Blockchain-based Gaming: Bloxmith Launches Raiders Rumble, A Strategy Game for Web2, Web3 Gamers on the Flow Network

Bloxmith, the innovative Web3 gaming platform, recently announced that the open-beta for Raiders Rumble, its 1v1 squad battler game for mobile, supported by the Flow blockchain, is available for download via Google Play and Apple App Store. These new gaming platforms provide engaging experiences that can help onboard avid gamers from the Web2 space to the dynamic Web3 ecosystem.

Raiders Rumble encourages users to apply various strategic decision-making in countering the moves of in-game opponents. Developed as an innovative esports game for a diverse group of players, it features a rotation of tournament modes where the top-50% of participants are able to win in-game items or RUMB tokens, Raiders Rumble’s native token.

As clarified in the update, players need not have a crypto-asset wallet or digital collectibles (NFTs) to begin playing and experiencing the interactive game. In order to maintain competitive integrity, digital collectibles in Raiders Rumble don’t offer any special in-battle advantage, but they have several innovative features that make them valued by collectors.

Bloxmith Co-founder and CEO Wayne Lee said that for their first game, they wanted to pioneer a different type of competitive mobile strategy game that would successfully bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3 gamers.

Lee added that they’re pleased to be working on the Flow blockchain. He explained that it solves the scalability problem for games and NFTs. Lee also noted that with frictionless onboarding, social logins and popular payment methods, Flow is built from the ground up to make it easier for users and global brands to transition from Web2 to the Web3 environment.

As part of the launch and esports theme of the game, Raiders Rumble will reportedly be hosting three Flow-sponsored bonus tournaments.

Strategy gamers will have the chance to win FLOW digital tokens, with a total prize pool valued at a whopping $120,000 in FLOW that’s up for grabs for the most innovative strategy gamers.

These Flow-sponsored tournaments are expected to take place between March 23-31, with  details on the Raiders Rumble website accessible here.

Chirag Narang, Head of Product at Flow, said that Raiders Rumble is a prime example of a mobile game that is able to appeal to a mainstream audience while also introducing them to the power of Web3 gaming that’s being powered by the Flow blockchain,

Naran added that the Bloxmith team’s take on game design and player onboarding aligns well with Flow’s vision for their ecosystem around gaming and onboarding mainstream gamers to Web3 technologies.

Founded back in December 2021 by passionate gaming enthusiasts from Riot Games, Blizzard Entertainment, Pumpkin VR and Facebook Gaming, Bloxmith’s goal is to develop player-first games that are entertaining even after 1000+ plays.

Bloxmith’s backers reportedly include Infinity Ventures Crypto, Dapper Labs, Vayala, Moon Holdings, Bitoro, SEA Pixel, and Results.io.

As noted in the update, Flow is a decentralized L1 blockchain developed specifically for onboarding mainstream users. Described as being frictionless, secure and eco-friendly, Flow empowers b;ockchain developers to innovate and really push the boundaries that will bring the next billion users to the Web3 world.

At present, Flow is home to a fast-evolving ecosystem of creators from leading brands, development studios, venture-funded startups, crypto industry leaders, and other tech professionals.
