Lancashire Cricket Club, based in the UK, has shifted to a blockchain ticketing solution. The club has coupled up with TIXnGO, a Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) ticketing service provider. The deal will view seamless ticket distribution for all sports events.

The blockchain-enabled platform will present ticketing services on all their home and away matches. The association will promote ticketing for all fixtures across the world and those taking place in their home turf during the year, this is according to Sunriseread.

Blockchain ticketing for increased transparency

By collaborating with TIXnGO, the cricket club will assure all their sporting events ticket sales are transparent. 

 Ticked published by TIXnGO are supposed to be distinct and counterfeit-proof. This will not only bring faith back to the sport but will assure the ticketing process is immutable. The provider, according to sources close to the deal, will streamline ticket reselling and transfer.

Lancashire Cricket Club intends to put their ticketing process on the blockchain that has been in the pipeline. The move is envisioned to enhance revenues by automation in a digital environment.

Blockchain ticketing idea is feedback supported

The concept of welcoming blockchain is as a consequence of feedback that has been gathered by the just concluded 2019 season. With well-articulated expertise, shifting to the blockchain is the only solution not only to the club through the industry in sporting general.

While appending voice to the new development, the SecuTix managing director David Hornby continued that blockchain will address the many weak points in ticketing. The initiative will allow the sports fanatics and stakeholders a reliable and secure digital-based ticketing ecosystem.

Blockchain ticketing popularity on the rise

Various sports teams and organizations are shifting to blockchain for solutions to obstacles that have been in the sector for decades. The technology is seen as a streamline catalyst in the sector.  Since the Ethereum supported AlphaWallet and UEFA association to tokenize 20,000 VIP tickets for Euro 2020, more firms are creating trust in DLTs. The European Football association hopped in, and on 17 February, declared that it is utilizing DLT powered mobile App in sharing more than a million tickets for its matches.
